Meet Our Founder, Cheri Bessellieu
Cheri Bessellieu is a privacy and technology lawyer with a deep passion for making privacy compliance manageable and practical. She founded CEB Advising after years of experience in Big Law and in-house roles, where she saw firsthand how privacy professionals were overextended, overwhelmed, and in need of real, actionable support.
Cheri’s approach is hands-on and strategic. She thrives on rolling up her sleeves and helping clients transform privacy from a source of stress into a structured, sustainable program. She believes privacy compliance should not be about checking boxes but about creating frameworks that align with business goals, reduce risk, and empower teams. Her decision to move away from the billable hour reflects her commitment to impact-driven work. Under the subscription model, she can focus on delivering meaningful results without time constraints.
She is an IAPP Privacy Law Specialist and has worked with organizations of all sizes to navigate evolving privacy regulations with confidence. Her expertise spans domestic and international privacy laws, data governance, and regulatory strategy. Cheri holds a JD from Fordham University School of Law and a BA from the University of Pennsylvania and is admitted to practice in Georgia and New York.

Alia brings deep experience helping companies from fast-growing startups to global enterprises build and strengthen their privacy programs. She’s worked on everything from incident response preparedness and cybersecurity policies to AI governance and personal data retention strategies.
Her background spans law firms and tech companies, including co-founding InFront Compliance to help organizations simplify and manage risk more effectively.
